Barbara Woods, President and Owner of Woods Event Management, Inc. offers clients over 20 years of corporate business experience. She began her career with Motorola Inc. on a part time basis while still attending high school and in the years that followed, she successfully fulfilled management positions in the areas of: Administration, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Market Promotions and Meeting/Convention Planning & Management.
She holds a B.S. degree in Finance/Accounting from Elmhurst College, is a proponent of continuous education and engages in a minimum of 40 hours of business and management training each year. While at Motorola, she served on a variety of Start-up, Quality and Expo Committees, and for a period of 9 years, was the Co-Chair of the Motorola/Subcontractor Advisory Council.
With over 13 years experience in the area of event planning and management, Barbara decided to leave Motorola in March of ‘96 and form her own company. She recommends and works with companies that have proven their abilities in specific fields like: staging/production, printing and advertising specialties, and also has a network of experienced contract personnel available to support her client base when necessary.
Recently, Barbara was invited and accepted into the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). She will be joining an organization that includes some of the most accomplishied, professional women representing more than 200 industries and professions. In addition to having exclusive networking opportunities, NAPW is also known to provide outstanding social and professional development for its exclusive membership.
